Job Description

Please be aware that Utah State statutes prohibit UTA from employing an individual in certain positions if he or she has a felony conviction in the past ten years, has been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, or has two or more convictions for a violation involving driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Major Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine professional accounting duties related to funds, assets, and grant accounting, payroll, budgets, treasury or special projects accounting. Analyze a variety of financial documents for completeness and accuracy as well as prepare and process financial documents related to the accounting process of the assigned department or function. Prepare reports and analysis as required. Perform all duties in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and other requirements as related. This position requires a credit check.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Accounting.

• Three years previous work experience in accounting with knowledge of proper accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of specific laws, ordinances and regulations governing financial reporting required.
• Basic typing skills and knowledge of personal computer operation, including proficiency with office software applications, and advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing with an emphasis on customer service.
• Ability to apply professional judgment in the application of standard and advanced accounting techniques and principles.
• Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions.
• Knowledge of accounting software preferred.

PAY RATE: $47,087.04 annually
