Equipment Maintenance Specialist C
Performs repair and maintenance on aerospace fabrication production equipment. Troubleshoots, analyzes, inspects, disassembles, rebuilds, modifies and tests factory machinery and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency by following regularly scheduled, routine, manufacturer recommended maintenance schedules and Company policy. Requires knowledge in areas such as mechanics, electronics/electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Uses and interprets blueprints and schematics to maintain and repair equipment. Responds to all equipment repair requests by communicating with requestor via the Facilities Service Request, identifies problems, troubleshoots and executes repair. Understands and follows all Company environmental and safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Orders and stores component inventory and replacement parts for the repair of equipment through external suppliers. Utilizes a variety of non-standard tools.
Must be able to understand and troubleshoot NC Controls (e.g. Fanuc, Siemens, Fagor, Mazatrol, Mitsubishi), and PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Fanuc).
Must be able to understand and apply G & M code, to troubleshoot machine tools.
Must be able to read and comprehend electrical circuit diagrams, and use to troubleshoot machine tools, including servo motors, servo drives, VFDs, encoders, linear scales, etc.
Must be able to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, and use to troubleshoot machine tools, including ballscrews, leadscrews, linear guides, box ways, gibs, linear and rotational axis accuracy, etc.
Must be able to read and comprehend detailed equipment operating manuals and follow sequential repair instructions.
Must be able to write preventative maintenance detailed instructions for sophisticated NC equipment.
Prefer Experience with Man Machine Interfaces (MMIs) such as: Allen Bradley Panelviews 550,1000,1400.
Prefer Experience with Industrial Networking / Firewalls and Protocols such as: Ethernet, Modbus, Modbus+, DataHighway, DataHighway+.
Prefer Experience with large integrated systems process systems such as Autoclaves and Furnaces.

• Engineering Drawings & Specs
Complete ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.
• Machine Tool System Knowledge
Complete knowledge of set up, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of complex machine tools. Complete system knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drive systems, control systems, vision systems, and industrial computers.
• Maintenance Programs
Complete knowledge and understanding of the customer’s preventive and corrective maintenance programs, concepts, and implementation.
Comprehensive ability to use various hand, power driven and specialty tools.
The complete ability to use established physical, mechanical, or scientific principles and perform appropriate tests to identify and solve problems encountered on the job. This includes the ability to locate and isolate the problem, identify possible solutions, and select approaches that are practical and effective.
Basic Qualifications For Consideration
Do you have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing NC Control Troubleshooting?
Do you have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience following electrical/mechanical circuit diagrams to troubleshoot machines?
Do you have a minimum of one (1) year of experience performing PLC troubleshooting?
Do you have previous experience or training with MFG/OEM fabrication equipment?
High school diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Job Related Information
Must be available to work primarily first second shift, and as required rotate to second shift for short intervals.
Must be able to support three buildings up to 20 miles apart, specific job location may vary for short intervals.
Must be willing to travel for equipment training provided by Company.
Must have experience using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite applications, e.g., Excel, Word.
Must have excellent communication and Customer Service Skills. Must be able to work well in a team environment and participate in employee involvement teams. Prefer Experience with MAXIMO maintenance system. Works under limited supervision.
