Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Manager

Job Description

The SEM Manager is responsible for search engine optimization (SEO) of the prospect website and managing pay-per-click (PPC) advertisements to increase rankings, drive traffic, and generate new leads. The SEM Manager is expected to have an excellent understanding of current SEO and PPC optimization techniques, with a proven record of success. This person will work closely with other Marketing personnel and the Demand Generation Manager to improve the overall website design and lead conversion process to improve lead generation. Excellent analytical skills are required in order to determine the effectiveness of optimization efforts. Basic understanding of HTML coding is required. This position is critical to assisting the Sales team in developing MasterControl’s sales pipeline to increase company revenue. Will be responsible for managing a small team of SEO personnel and/or consultants. Works under immediate supervision.

• Stay up-to-date on SEO & PPC success factors and optimization tools
• Create and implement SEO strategies to improve website rankings
• Identify keywords for new website landing page and PPC campaign creation
• Content optimization of website landing pages to improve search engine rankings
• Creation and optimization of PPC campaigns to improve lead generation
• Editing HTML for website landing page creation and optimization
• Generate ideas for website improvements to increase website-to-lead conversion
• A / B testing of PPC elements to increase lead generation
• Analytics of all website and PPC elements to determine what is working and what is not working to drive further optimization efforts
• Management of other SEO personnel and / or consultants
• Other duties as assigned

• Successful management of SEO & PPC projects required
• Strong analytical ability to determine success of optimization efforts
• Ability to manage multiple short and long term projects without close supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, with overall Microsoft Office experience preferred
• Fundamental understanding of HTML and website design
• Management experience preferred

• Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for an extended period of time

• Associate’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
• Work experience should include a minimum of 3 years of search engine optimization and pay-per-click management
