Senior PPC (Paid Search) Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a PPC ninja that will serve as a player-coach for our internal paid search team. This dynamic individual needs to possess a unique combination of leadership skills, intellectual curiosity, and an insatiable drive to improve through data and creativity. In short, we want someone who is constantly checking their lead totals and is obsessed with implementing and testing the next great PPC tactic with their team! This person will be responsible for developing SEM strategies across all of our web properties (primarily focused on the online higher education market) and leading and guiding paid search managers. The Senior Paid Search Manager will oversee all activities related to paid search – keyword selection, bid management, ad copy testing, tracking results, etc. – across major search engines and will be responsible for meeting lead volume, cost-per-lead, and cost-per-acquisition goals.

•Lead and guide team of paid search managers
•Develop, implement and optimize paid search campaigns on Google AdWords and Bing AdCenter and the ability to lead others in these tasks
•Conduct keyword research using online tools, competitive research, and analysis for keyword expansion and traffic growth
•Innovate new keyword generation techniques, performance optimization, ad testing and campaign design
•Report on and implement new media and channel strategies
•Responsible for leveraging technology to create competitive advantages within the media department
•Break down quality, volume and financial metrics to determine the success of each campaign and make recommendations where needed
•Identify, negotiate and buy media from current and new media partners
•Work with account manager to ensure campaign initiatives are met and that strong strategic relationships are built with each partner
•Ensure overall goals and targets are met
•Manage day to day communication with partners to ensure they have necessary creative, tracking URLs, reporting and other materials necessary to execute and optimize campaigns

•Bachelor’s degree
•3+ years PPC experience
•2+ years of experience manager PPC professionals
•Experience with successful PPC spends of $50,000+ a month for a direct response marketing product or service
•Preferred historical employment direct for a company not an agency
•Thorough understanding of PPC best practices, strategy, optimization
•Strong blend of left and right brain abilities – strong data analytic decision making skills with the ability to write strong, compelling ad copy
•Strong work ethic , must show drive and dedication
•Specific experience in driving significant traffic to a web property
•Specific knowledge in campaign variables
•Potential for growing into a manager of a team and marketing manager position
•Strong communication skills (outgoing, boat rocking type of personality preferred)
•Understanding/use of bid management platforms
•Google Adwords certification a plus
